During this time, the family had posted missing-person flyers in hopes of gathering information about his disappearance. Jasnique shared that the scammers have gone to great lengths to deceive the family, with one caller even demanding a $5,000 ransom for Jiare’s release and instructing Jasnique to pay in Bitcoin. Despite the threats, the family has not succumbed to the culprits’ tactics.
In a disturbing turn of events, the scammers even had an actor pretend to be Jiare on the phone, pleading for help. These malicious actions have continued even after Jiare’s body was found, with threats persisting during the family’s time of grieving.
Jasnique disclosed that she received a threatening call on Thanksgiving day, where the caller claimed to have Jiare and made ransom demands. Another call followed the next day, with a woman stating, “I have your son,” before abruptly hanging up.
In response to the ongoing harassment, Jasnique has decided to change her phone number to protect herself and her family. She has chosen not to file a police report for every call, as she is currently focusing on coping with the tragic loss of her brother.
