President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt is set to attend the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on November 18-19. This invitation from Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva marks Egypt’s fourth participation in G20 summits, highlighting the country’s growing international stature and regional influence.

The summit will focus on key issues affecting developing countries, including social inclusion, poverty eradication, global governance reforms, and energy transition in the context of sustainable development. President El-Sisi will address these topics in his speeches, shedding light on Egypt’s development efforts and the challenges faced by developing nations in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals amidst global political and economic uncertainties.

One of the main highlights of the summit will be the launch of the “Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty,” an initiative spearheaded by Brazil. This alliance aims to combat poverty and hunger by leveraging financial and knowledge resources to accelerate global efforts towards sustainable development.

In addition to his participation in the summit sessions, President El-Sisi is expected to hold bilateral meetings with world leaders to discuss ways to strengthen international cooperation, enhance bilateral relations, and address regional security challenges. These discussions will focus on promoting peace and stability in the Middle East, particularly in light of the ongoing tensions in Palestine and Lebanon.

Overall, Egypt’s presence at the G20 Summit underscores the country’s commitment to global cooperation and sustainable development. President El-Sisi’s participation will serve as a platform to showcase Egypt’s vision for addressing global challenges and fostering solidarity among nations to achieve shared goals of prosperity and development.
