Legions of children had the opportunity to explore, test, and rate new toys at a special event held at a Game store in Mall of Africa over the weekend. This event gave kids the chance to play with a variety of toys such as squishies, rifles, cars, dolls, and puzzles, and then vote for their favorites.
The results of this toy testing event will help determine which toys are most popular among kids this year, and will influence what toys Santa may leave under the tree this holiday season, according to a representative from the retailer.
The atmosphere at the event was lively and full of energy, with kids moving from station to station to test out different toys. Children were organized into teams and guided by friendly staff members as they explored the various playthings on offer.
Kids took their role as toy testers seriously, carefully rating each toy they tried out. Parents and even some of the event organizers couldn’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and excitement as they watched the children engage with the toys.
One toy that seemed to capture the attention of many kids was a bubble machine, which allowed them to create streams of bubbles with a pink, camera-shaped bubble generator. Other popular toys included Lego puzzles, Hot Wheels cars, and even a mini Karcher cleaning device.
It was refreshing to see children actively engaging with physical toys and stepping away from screens and devices. Many of the kids who participated in the event were later seen browsing the toy aisle at the store, looking for the same toys they had tested.
After the votes are counted, Massmart will announce which toys were the favorites among the kids. Until then, the bubbles, puzzles, and toy cars that were tested at the event may give us a sneak peek into what will be popular choices for holiday gifts this year.
