The WOW Awards: Celebrating Women of Wonder

Former Springbok WAG Rachel Kolisi was recently honored with a prestigious Women of Wonder (WOW) Award at the 11th annual ceremony held in Cape Town on 30 August.

The WOW Awards is a global platform that recognizes and celebrates women who inspire through their leadership, philanthropy, and social impact. The awards are not only held in Cape Town but also in other cities around the world, including Durban, Johannesburg, Mauritius, Dubai, Qatar, London, and India.

Rachel Kolisi: A Beacon of Social Justice

Rachel Kolisi was recognized for her unwavering dedication to social justice, philanthropy, and community empowerment. As a co-founder of the Kolisi Foundation alongside her ex-husband, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, Rachel has been a driving force behind the foundation’s impactful initiatives.

Under Rachel’s leadership, the Kolisi Foundation has been actively involved in advocating against gender-based violence (GBV) and implementing programs that support women and children. The foundation’s work also extends to education, sports development, and food security, addressing some of South Africa’s most pressing issues.

Organizers of the WOW Awards praised Rachel for her focus on gender-based violence, which has led to the implementation of initiatives that provide support and resources to survivors while advocating for systemic change.
