Hearts of Oak Secure Double Over Heart of Lions in GHALCA Top 4 Tournament

Hearts of Oak continued their impressive form by securing a 1-0 victory over Heart of Lions on Wednesday night at the University of Ghana Stadium in the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament. This win comes just three days after their 2-0 triumph over the same opponents at the Accra Sports Stadium, where they lifted the 2025 Homowo Cup.

The only goal of Wednesday’s match came just before halftime when Ransford Mensah’s free kick deflected into the Heart of Lions net. Despite a spirited effort from Heart of Lions in the second half, they were unable to find an equalizer as the match ended 1-0 in favor of Hearts of Oak.

Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani opted for a much-rotated lineup for the clash, resting key players such as captain Benjamin Asare, Kelvin Osei Asibey, and Hamzah Issah. The decision paid off as the team put in a solid performance to secure the win.

Looking ahead, Hearts of Oak will face Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani GoldStars in their next fixture, while Heart of Lions are set to take on Asante Kotoko. Both teams will be looking to continue their positive momentum in the tournament.

It was a well-deserved victory for Hearts of Oak, who have been in impressive form recently. The team will be hoping to carry this momentum forward as they aim for more success in the GHALCA Top 4 tournament and beyond.
