The 2025 edition of the ‘Walk Your Journey’ series commenced on Wednesday at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg, marking the beginning of a celebration of Youth Month. The Bathu Foundation, in collaboration with DJ Zinhle and GalxBoy founder Thatiso Dube, has brought back the series with a focus on providing young South Africans with valuable tools for success in the ever-changing entrepreneurial landscape.

The theme for this year’s series is “Navigating the New Age of Retail: Opportunities and Challenges in South Africa.” Esteemed figures such as Bathu founder Theo Baloyi, DJ Zinhle, and Thatiso led discussions on topics such as business growth, innovation, and sustainability in today’s competitive market.

Theo Baloyi expressed the intention behind the series, emphasizing the need to accelerate entrepreneurial growth by sharing practical insights and real-world lessons. He highlighted the potential in South Africa’s emerging entrepreneurs and the importance of imparting tangible knowledge to help sustain businesses over time.

In addition, Theo underscored the significance of addressing emerging topics like artificial intelligence within the entrepreneurial conversation. By incorporating tools like AI, individuals can enhance their self-expression and better navigate the business landscape.

The ‘Walk Your Journey’ series aims to reach a wider audience, with upcoming sessions scheduled at the Fusion Boutique Hotel in Polokwane on 18 June and the Playhouse Theatre in Durban on 25 June. Each session will feature panel discussions, Q&As, and networking opportunities to foster learning and collaboration among participants.

The inclusion of DJ Zinhle and Thatiso in the programme reflects the Foundation’s commitment to offering practical and relatable insights. Together, they bring over 30 years of combined experience to the stage, offering valuable perspectives and guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs.

Ultimately, the ‘Walk Your Journey’ series serves as a platform for giving back to the community and nurturing a new wave of successful brands. By sharing knowledge and experiences, the Foundation aims to cultivate a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem that can generate multiple successful ventures in a shorter timeframe.

In conclusion, the ‘Walk Your Journey’ series promises to empower and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs in South Africa, paving the way for sustainable business growth and innovation.
