Chicago Police Release Surveillance Images of Suspects in Wrigley Field Shooting
Chicago police detectives have released surveillance images of four individuals believed to be involved in a shooting outside Wrigley Field last month. The incident, which took place on May 15, resulted in a 26-year-old man being injured by a stray bullet.
According to witnesses, the altercation began between two groups of people in their teens or early 20s at the corner of Waveland and Sheffield around 6:56 p.m. The situation escalated when two males started shooting at each other, with one of the bullets hitting the victim in the left arm as he stood outside Murphy’s Bleachers across the street.
Police found at least 15 shell casings near a parking lot on the north side of Waveland Avenue, indicating a significant exchange of gunfire. Despite detaining a suspect at the Wilson Red Line station shortly after the incident, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
Surveillance images from the CTA show four Hispanic males, aged 15 to 17, allegedly involved in discharging a firearm during the altercation near Wrigley Field. Chicago Police Department is urging anyone with information to contact Area Three detectives at 312-744-8261, referencing case #JJ-256188.
