James McClain, a 37-year-old man charged with two residential burglaries last month, is now facing additional charges for committing more burglaries in the months leading up to his arrest. Chicago police arrested McClain for allegedly burglarizing a residential building in the 5800 block of North Kenmore twice in February. He was arrested again recently after appearing at the Skokie courthouse for a routine hearing in the case.

According to prosecutors, McClain is also responsible for three residential burglaries in Lakeview and Uptown this winter. On December 18, he allegedly broke into an apartment building in the 3000 block of North Southport and stole a bike. On January 16, he stole another bike from a condo building in the 2800 block of North Halsted. Finally, on February 27, he allegedly stole $2,500 worth of Super Mario figurines from a storage area in a condo building in the 4700 block of North Kenmore.

Despite the new charges, Judge Susana Ortiz released McClain on 24/7 electronic monitoring. This means that he will be closely monitored while awaiting further legal proceedings.
