Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus expressed his satisfaction with the start of the camp, following a productive coaches workshop over the weekend and the arrival of the invited players in Cape Town on Monday night. The players, all coming from the country’s top four franchises, participated in a morning gym session and attended boardroom sessions where Erasmus and his coaching staff outlined their plans and expectations for the season.

The coaches’ workshop, which preceded the alignment camp, allowed the coaching staff to delve into different aspects of the game and identify areas for improvement. Erasmus emphasized the importance of aligning with the coaching staff and setting the tone for the players. The camp will continue with two more alignment camps and a training camp in June before the Boks face Italy and Georgia in their Incoming Series in July.

Erasmus praised the coaches’ workshop as productive, with each coach providing input on areas of improvement and focus for the upcoming season. The workshop allowed the coaching staff to align completely and present a unified vision to the players. The opening day of the alignment camp saw new and returning players alike embracing the opportunity to learn and engage with the team’s structures and expectations.
