The Nedbank Cup last 16 draw was conducted in Johannesburg, with some exciting fixtures lined up for the top-flight teams. Kaizer Chiefs will face Chippa United at home in a highly anticipated clash, following their recent victory over the same team in the Betway Premiership. Mduduzi Shabalala’s superb goal secured a 1-0 win for Chiefs in their previous encounter.

Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns also have home draws in the next round of the Nedbank Cup. The Buccaneers will take on Motsepe Foundation Championship side Baroka FC, while Masandawana will face ABC Motsepe League outfit Mheni Home Defenders. Pirates and Baroka have never met in the Nedbank Cup before, with their last match in the Betway Premiership ending in a goalless draw.

Baroka FC, currently fifth in the Championship, will be looking to cause an upset against Pirates. They secured a 3-0 win over Mvoti FC to reach the last 16. Mheni Home Defenders, on the other hand, are based in Limpopo and will face a tough challenge against Sundowns after beating Hungry Lions in the previous round.

Royal AM, despite having all their matches postponed indefinitely by the PSL, remain in the draw and are set to face Milford FC in the last 32. However, uncertainty looms over their participation due to a preservation order placed on the club by SARS. Owner Shauwn Mkhize reportedly faces a hefty tax bill, which could affect the team’s future in the competition.

The full draw for the Nedbank Cup last 16 is as follows:
– Durban City vs TS Galaxy
– Orlando Pirates vs Baroka
– Kaizer Chiefs vs Chippa United
– Mamelodi Sundowns vs Mheni Home Defenders
– Marumo Gallants vs AmaZulu
– Royal AM/Milford vs Sekhukhune United
– Stellenbosch FC vs Polokwane City
– SuperSport United vs Cape Town Spurs
