50 Cent Rejects $3 Million Offer to Participate in Trump Rally
In a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, rapper 50 Cent revealed that he turned down a $3 million invitation to participate in Donald Trump’s rally in New York. The artist, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, confirmed that he was also asked to perform his hit track “Many Men (Wish Death)” at the Republican National Convention for a similar amount.
Despite his previous admiration for the former president, 50 Cent explained that he declined the offer because he prefers to stay away from politics. He expressed concerns about the divisive nature of political discussions, stating, “It’s because when you do get involved in it, no matter how you feel, someone passionately disagrees with you.”
The song “Many Men (Wish Death),” released in 2003 and inspired by 50 Cent’s own experience of being shot in 2000, gained new significance after an attempt on Trump’s life in July. The track became an anthem for Trump and his supporters, resonating with themes of resilience and defiance.
In addition to his music, 50 Cent has been vocal about his thoughts on Trump. He recently commented on the former president’s rhetoric, stating, “He says ‘fight.’ All right. And that’s exactly what I did after I got shot. I just went into fight mode. People identify with it that way.” Despite speculating about Trump’s potential re-election, the rapper remains cautious about making definitive statements.
Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden featured appearances from celebrities like Hulk Hogan and Dr. Phil, but faced criticism for a stand-up comedian’s racist remarks. The incident, in which Tony Hinchcliffe made derogatory comments about Puerto Rico, prompted backlash from prominent figures like Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, and Bad Bunny, who voiced their support for Kamala Harris’s presidential ambitions.
