Having succeeded in getting Karim Wade off the electoral slate with his 16 January complaint that Wade held dual nationality, presidential hopeful Thierno Alassane Sall has turned his attention to the postponement of the vote.
On 31 January, Alassane Sall, who heads the party La République des Valeurs party, announced that he would be voting against the postponement of the election on 5 February – a postponement that would allow Macky Sall to remain in power beyond the end of his term.
