A student at Brighton High School was arrested Friday after a stabbing that sent another student to the hospital.
About 10:30 a.m. Friday, Brighton’s school resource officer requested emergency medical assistance for a student with a serious leg injury, according to a news release from the Brighton Police Department.
The student who was stabbed was taken to a hospital for treatment, but the injuries were not life-threatening, according to the release.
During the initial investigation, the suspected student was taken into custody at the school. The student was processed and released later that day, pending official charges, the release stated.
Officers are investigating where the knife came from and what led to the stabbing, according to the release.
