Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has strongly criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him a “murderer” in response to President Trump’s comparison of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia to children fighting in a playground. Zelensky emphasized that the situation is far more serious than a playground squabble, with Putin being a dangerous aggressor.

During an interview on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” Zelensky expressed his frustration with the ongoing devastation and suffering that Ukraine has endured since Russia’s invasion. Trump, on the other hand, likened the conflict to children fighting and suggested that sometimes it is better to let them fight before intervening.

In a recent phone call with Putin, Trump acknowledged that immediate peace was not likely to be achieved. The Kremlin chief informed Trump of plans for further strikes on Ukraine following a covert operation that targeted warplanes and infrastructure in Russia. Trump warned that the attack on Kyiv would be brutal.

Zelensky shared a heartbreaking story of a Ukrainian father who lost his wife and three children in a missile strike, highlighting the immense pain and suffering experienced by the Ukrainian people. He criticized Trump for not fully understanding the magnitude of the tragedy, emphasizing that those who are thousands of miles away cannot comprehend the depth of the pain felt by those directly affected by the war.

The full interview with Zelensky will be broadcast on ABC News, where he will shed more light on the devastating impact of the conflict on Ukraine. The Ukrainian president’s strong condemnation of Putin as a “murderer” underscores the seriousness of the situation and the urgent need for international support to end the violence and bring peace to the region.
