Xiaomi has officially announced the launch of their new flagship series, the Xiaomi 15 phones. The series includes the Xiaomi 15 Pro model along with two editions that are new to the lineup. Building on the success of the previous 14 series, Xiaomi aims to set new standards with the 15 series.

The Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro have been unveiled in China on 29th October 2024. Both models are now available for purchase in the Chinese market. While a global launch date has not been specified yet, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has hinted at a global release soon.

The much-anticipated Xiaomi 15 Ultra is also expected to be released globally after the Chinese New Year on 29th January 2025. Reports suggest that the global launch may take place towards the end of February or early March, possibly at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The pricing for the Xiaomi 15 series in China varies based on the configuration. The Xiaomi 15 starts at CNY 4,500 for the 12GB RAM/256GB storage model and goes up to CNY 5,500 for the 16GB RAM/1TB storage variant. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 15 Pro starts at CNY 5,299 for the 12GB RAM/256GB storage model and goes up to CNY 6,499 for the 16GB RAM/1TB storage variant.

The design of the Xiaomi 15 series focuses on elegance and durability. The Xiaomi 15 features a compact design with Dragon Crystal glass for enhanced durability. The Custom Edition offers up to 20 color options for personalization, while the Diamond Edition boasts a diamond-studded frame and crocodile-skin textured back panel.

The Xiaomi 15 Pro features a slightly larger display with micro-curved edges and Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0 for scratch resistance. Both models are IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.

In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 15 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with up to 16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. The phones offer impressive camera setups with the Xiaomi 15 Pro featuring a collaboration with Leica for camera tuning.

The Xiaomi 15 series runs on HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, introducing innovative features like HyperCore, HyperConnect, and HyperAI to enhance performance, connectivity, and AI-driven user experiences.

As we await the global launch details, the Xiaomi 15 series promises to set new benchmarks in the flagship smartphone market. Stay tuned for more updates on the release and availability of these exciting new devices.
