A new update for WhatsApp was recently released on 25 February, bringing the app to Beta version 2.25.5.8. While the update was intended to bring improvements, some users have encountered various issues after installing it.

One common problem reported by users is the inability to download or view images or videos in the chat. Additionally, some users have found that they are unable to listen to voice messages. These issues have been highlighted by the Wabetainfo X account and other users who have faced similar challenges.

In response to these issues, Meta released a new update (version 2.25.5.16) to address the bug. While this update resolved the problem with media downloads, it also reintroduced other issues. Users are now experiencing difficulties sending stickers, GIFs, or emojis within the app. Wabetainfo has also reported on this latest development.

For users who are facing these issues, especially on Android devices, there is a temporary solution. Users can choose to avoid installing the two new updates or switch back to the stable version of WhatsApp. Google provides a step-by-step guide on how to leave the beta program of an app, which can help users revert to the stable version.

Alternatively, users can choose to revert WhatsApp to an older version by first backing up their chats and contacts, uninstalling the current version, and downloading an earlier version from a reliable source like APK Mirror.

If none of these options are feasible, users may have to wait for Meta to release another update to address the issues. It is reassuring to know that developers are aware of the problems and have been quick to deliver bug fixes in the past.
