Lions loose forward JC Pretorius is confident that his team deserves to be in the top eight of the United Rugby Championship (URC) despite their inconsistent form. With a crucial match against Glasgow Warriors coming up, Pretorius believes that a win is essential to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Lions currently sit in 13th place on the URC log after a disappointing loss to Cardiff last weekend. However, Pretorius is determined to turn things around and secure a victory against Glasgow to climb up the standings. He emphasizes the importance of not dwelling on past defeats and staying focused on the task at hand.

Reflecting on their recent performance against Cardiff, Pretorius acknowledges the areas where the team needs to improve. With an extra day of preparation before facing Glasgow, the players have had the opportunity to analyze their game and make necessary adjustments. Pretorius highlights the need for better execution in key areas such as the breakdown and handling pressure situations.

Despite the loss to Cardiff, Pretorius commends the team’s fighting spirit and resilience. He believes that they have the ability to bounce back and compete at a higher level. However, he also recognizes the missed opportunities that cost them valuable points in the previous match.

Looking ahead to the clash with Glasgow, Pretorius is confident that the team has learned from their mistakes and will be better prepared. He stresses the importance of capitalizing on scoring opportunities and being more clinical in their execution.

In conclusion, Pretorius remains optimistic about the Lions’ chances of making it to the top eight in the URC. With a strong focus on improvement and a determination to succeed, he believes that the team has what it takes to compete with the best in the competition.
