Max Verstappen Secures Victory at Japanese Grand Prix
Four-time world champion Max Verstappen dominated the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday, claiming his first win of the 2025 season from pole position. The Dutch Red Bull driver crossed the finish line nearly 1.5 seconds ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris, who finished in second place.
Verstappen’s victory at Suzuka marked his fourth consecutive win in Japan and narrowed Norris’s lead in the drivers’ championship to just one point. After three races, Norris leads with 62 points, closely followed by Verstappen with 61 points, and McLaren’s Oscar Piastri in third with 49 points.
Charles Leclerc of Ferrari secured fourth place, with George Russell and Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes finishing in fifth and sixth respectively. Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari crossed the line in seventh, while RB’s Isack Hadjar took eighth place. Williams’ Alex Albon and Haas’s Oliver Bearman completed the top ten.
One of the notable moments of the race came when Verstappen and Norris exited the pit stops side by side, with Norris attempting to pass the Dutchman but being forced onto the grass. The incident was reviewed by the stewards, who decided not to take any further action, with Norris acknowledging it as part of racing.
