The Department of International Relations and Cooperation has strongly responded to a recent attack from United States President Donald Trump, who indicated that he would boycott the G20 summit in South Africa in November. Trump, once again, falsely accused the country of persecuting white farmers.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump questioned how he could attend the G20 in South Africa when the primary topic of conversation was land confiscation and genocide. He claimed that white farmers were being targeted and killed, and criticized the media for not reporting on it. Trump also mentioned that the United States had withheld all contributions to South Africa.

In response, the international relations department emphasized that the government is mandated by the Constitution to protect the rights of all citizens, regardless of their race. Spokesperson Chrispin Phiri highlighted that South Africa belongs to all who live in it, and that every person has fundamental rights.

This is not the first time Trump has attacked South Africa. In February, he announced cutting all aid to the country due to perceived land confiscation and mistreatment of certain groups. His decision was based on a misreading of the Expropriation Act signed into law by President Cyril Ramaphosa. The Act aimed to ensure equitable access to land, not confiscation.

Since then, Washington’s relentless attacks have been fueled by misinformation from groups like AfriForum and individuals like Elon Musk. The US has boycotted G20 meetings, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent snubbing gatherings ahead of the summit.

Despite the criticism, South Africa remains focused on its role as G20 president. International Relations Minister Ronald Lamola is currently in Greece, outlining the country’s priorities for the presidency. Lamola aims to bridge the gap between developed and developing economies and unlock Africa’s potential in various sectors.

In his latest attack, Trump shared a video clip of EFF leader Julius Malema making controversial statements about whites. The EFF accused Trump of using these attacks to divert attention from global issues caused by his policies. The party criticized Trump for his economic decisions, which have led to a trade war with China and Europe.

Overall, South Africa remains steadfast in its commitment to equality and justice for all its citizens, despite the external challenges it faces. The country is focused on promoting a more equitable and sustainable global future as it leads the G20. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s more important than ever to stay informed and up-to-date on current events. With the rise of social media and 24-hour news cycles, it can be overwhelming to navigate the constant stream of information that bombards us every day. However, staying informed is crucial for making informed decisions, engaging in meaningful conversations, and understanding the world around us.

One way to stay informed is by reading the news. Whether you prefer traditional newspapers, online news sites, or news apps, staying up-to-date on current events is essential. Reading the news allows you to be aware of what is happening in your community, your country, and around the world. It provides you with valuable information that can help you make informed decisions, such as voting in elections or supporting causes that are important to you.

Another way to stay informed is by following reliable sources on social media. Many news organizations have a strong presence on platforms like Twitter and Facebook, where they share breaking news and important updates. By following these accounts, you can stay informed in real-time and engage in conversations with others about current events. Just be sure to verify the information you see on social media, as misinformation and fake news can easily spread online.

Podcasts are another great way to stay informed. There are countless podcasts that cover a wide range of topics, from politics and economics to pop culture and entertainment. Listening to podcasts allows you to hear in-depth discussions and analysis of current events, often from experts in the field. It’s a great way to learn more about a particular topic or issue that interests you, and you can listen on the go while commuting, exercising, or doing chores.

Finally, engaging in conversations with others is a key way to stay informed. Whether it’s discussing the news with friends and family, participating in online forums, or attending community events, talking about current events can help you gain new perspectives and insights. By listening to others’ opinions and sharing your own, you can deepen your understanding of complex issues and become a more informed citizen.

In conclusion, staying informed is essential in today’s world. By reading the news, following reliable sources on social media, listening to podcasts, and engaging in conversations with others, you can stay up-to-date on current events and make informed decisions. Being informed not only benefits you personally, but also contributes to a more informed and engaged society as a whole. So, don’t be overwhelmed by the constant stream of information – embrace it, stay informed, and be an active participant in the world around you.
