Natalie Harp, a former anchor at the conservative One America News Network, is set to play a significant role in President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming administration. According to a recent report by The New York Times, the 33-year-old has been a vocal supporter of Trump, especially during his baseless claims of election fraud in the 2020 election.
Harp’s journey with Trump began in 2019 when she praised him for signing the Right to Try law, which allowed her to seek experimental treatment for bone cancer. This led to her being invited to speak at the Republican National Convention in 2020. Harp eventually left her job to join Trump’s staff in 2022, where she has been managing his social media presence and formal correspondence. She is affectionately referred to as the “human printer” for feeding Trump positive media coverage and conspiracy theories, as well as writing him adoring letters.
In one of the letters viewed by The Times, Harp expressed her unwavering devotion to Trump, stating, “You are all that matters to me.” She thanked him for being her “Guardian and Protector in this Life” and expressed her desire to bring him joy and have moments of non-work-related conversations.
Trump reportedly holds Harp in high regard, often calling her “sweetie” and treating her like a daughter. Some senior aides feel overshadowed by her influence, as she has been known to arrange interviews for Trump without the knowledge of his press team and share online conspiracy theories with him. In a particularly memorable incident, Harp ran after Trump’s golf cart in Scotland to read positive social media posts about him aloud.
Despite her close relationship with Trump, not all staffers are on board with Harp’s influence. Some have raised concerns about the lack of quality control in the information she provides to the President. Additionally, there are reservations about the blossoming relationship between Trump and Harp at a time when he appears more critical and dismissive of those who have opposed him.
Harp’s role in the administration has been a subject of scrutiny and humor, with Stephen Colbert even mocking the duo on his late-night show. As her influence continues to grow, it remains to be seen how her presence will impact Trump’s presidency.
