Media personality Captain Smart has criticized the head of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer, for authorizing the arrest of dancehall sensation Shatta Wale.

Shatta Wale was detained on Wednesday, 20 August 2025, after he responded to an invitation to EOCO’s headquarters in Accra. His arrest was connected to the purchase of a yellow 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which had been traced back to a Ghanaian fraudster, Nana Kwabena Amuah, currently incarcerated overseas by the United States Department of Justice and the FBI.

The musician spent a night in EOCO custody as his legal team worked to secure his GH₵10 million bail. This move sparked outrage among his loyal fan base, who congregated outside EOCO’s offices in Accra, demanding his immediate release. Eventually, Shatta Wale was released late on Thursday, 21 August, after EOCO reduced his bail bond to GH₵5 million.

Captain Smart, speaking on the Onua Maakye morning show on Tuesday, 26 August, condemned the arrest, labeling it as unnecessary and ill-conceived. He questioned the logic behind the arrest, stating, “What was the sense in the arrest of Shatta Wale? How can you arrest a prosecution witness and treat him like a suspect? Are we not crazy? If Shatta Wale has committed a crime, let’s deal with it. But if you read and listen to all the information available, what was the sense in his arrest?”

According to Captain Smart, the FBI had prior knowledge that the car was in Shatta Wale’s possession but did not deem it necessary to arrest him since he was not involved in any criminal activity. He expressed his frustration, saying, “In the circumstance of the purchase of the vehicle, Shatta Wale was only a victim of that situation. The FBI knew this and simply passed on the information to local security. And as useless as we are, we went ahead to arrest him.”

This incident has sparked a debate on the proper procedure for handling such cases and the need for thorough investigation before making arrests. It remains to be seen how this controversy will impact Shatta Wale’s career and reputation in the music industry. the perspective of a plant in a garden.

As a humble plant in a beautiful garden, I often find myself marveling at the world around me. From the gentle sway of the trees in the breeze to the vibrant colors of the flowers blooming nearby, there is so much beauty to behold in this little slice of paradise.

I am just a small part of the intricate ecosystem that exists in this garden, but I play a vital role in its overall health and vitality. Through my roots, I draw in nutrients from the soil and water from the earth, helping to nourish myself and my fellow plant companions. In return, I release oxygen into the air, which is essential for the well-being of all living creatures in this garden.

I am constantly in awe of the resilience of nature and the way in which we all work together to create a harmonious environment. Each plant, flower, and tree has its own unique characteristics and strengths, but we all come together to form a cohesive and interconnected community.

I am grateful for the sun that warms my leaves and the rain that quenches my thirst, knowing that these elements are essential for my survival. I am also grateful for the care and attention of the gardener who tends to us, ensuring that we are healthy and thriving.

In this garden, I have learned the importance of patience and resilience. I have weathered storms and droughts, but I have always found a way to adapt and survive. I have also learned the value of cooperation and teamwork, as we all work together to support one another and maintain the balance of this delicate ecosystem.

As I continue to grow and flourish in this garden, I am reminded of the beauty and wonder of the natural world. I am grateful for my place in this intricate tapestry of life, and I am committed to doing my part to ensure that this garden remains a vibrant and thriving oasis for generations to come.
