Tesla Cybertruck Explodes Outside Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, Leaving One Dead and Several Injured
Tragedy struck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday morning when a Tesla Cybertruck exploded, resulting in one fatality and at least seven injuries, according to authorities.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a distressing call about an explosion around 8:40 a.m. at the hotel. Sheriff Kevin McMahill revealed during a news conference that a 2024 Cybertruck had pulled up to the hotel’s entrance doors, where smoke began to emanate from the vehicle before a large explosion occurred.
The individual who lost their life was inside the vehicle, with seven others reported to have sustained minor injuries. The cause of the explosion remains uncertain, although authorities referenced the recent attack in New Orleans during the press briefing.
McMahill emphasized the need for heightened caution in light of the New Orleans incident, stating, “With an explosion here on an iconic Las Vegas boulevard, we are taking all of the precautions necessary to ensure the safety of our community.”
While there is no ongoing public threat, the investigation into the Cybertruck explosion will persist. McMahill noted, “A Cybertruck, the Trump hotel—there are numerous questions that we must address as we proceed.”
Social media footage depicted a Tesla Cybertruck engulfed in flames near the hotel’s lobby entrance, prompting the evacuation of guests and staff. Eric Trump, a key figure in the Trump Organization, assured that guest safety remains a top priority amidst the incident.
Witnesses within the hotel, such as Todd Hansen and Shir Poli, recounted hearing alarming sounds and observing smoke as they were evacuated. Kerri Ford, who was set to tie the knot on the same day, found herself unexpectedly leaving the premises with her wedding attire and license left behind.
The Trump Las Vegas Hotel, boasting nearly 1,300 suites and spanning 64 stories, stands as a prominent landmark on Fashion Show Drive. The explosion in Las Vegas coincided with the tragic events in New Orleans, where a truck plowed into a crowd, claiming the lives of at least 10 individuals.
