Smokey Robinson is seeking to escalate the legal battle with a woman accusing him of sexual abuse by requesting the court to compel her deposition and impose sanctions on her attorneys.
The renowned singer-songwriter filed a new document on Thursday, alleging that Jane Doe 2’s attorneys are delaying the deposition process, causing unfair prejudice to Smokey Robinson.
Robinson argues that the prolonged delay in resolving the allegations is impacting his career, particularly his touring income, emphasizing the urgency of concluding the legal proceedings swiftly.
Smokey is urging the court to enforce the deposition of the woman within the next 14 days, while also requesting sanctions against her legal representatives for necessitating court intervention to facilitate the process.

Robinson is requesting the court to impose sanctions on the woman’s attorneys for an amount of $4,762.50, representing the legal expenses incurred by Smokey and his wife Frances in addressing the discovery challenges.
Following multiple allegations of sexual battery against Smokey Robinson in early May, which he vehemently refutes, the artist is now taking legal action to defend his reputation.
Past investigations into an alleged sexual assault involving Smokey Robinson in 2015 have resurfaced amidst the current legal proceedings.
Efforts to reach out to the plaintiff’s legal team for comments have been unsuccessful thus far.
