September could be headed back to SuperSport United

Thabo September, the former Chippa United coach, could potentially make a return to SuperSport United as he explores his options after leaving his previous club. While his departure from Chippa United has not been officially confirmed, the 42-year-old has already relocated back to Gauteng, signaling a potential move in the works.

Despite his good relationship with Chippa United chairman, Siviwe “Chippa” Mpengesi, it has been reported that September’s contract will not be renewed by the club. Chippa United finished 11th in the Betway Premiership standings, narrowly missing out on a top eight spot by just two points.

The reasons behind Chippa United’s decision not to retain September are still unclear, but it is evident that the former defender is attracting interest from various clubs ahead of the upcoming season. A source close to the situation revealed, “Right now, coach Thabo is back in Gauteng and he’s exploring a couple of options before he commits. He did well at Chippa and other clubs have shown interest. The good thing is that he leaves the club on good terms, and his relationship with Chippa is still good. A couple of teams are monitoring him as a potential addition to their technical team.”

As September weighs his options, it remains to be seen whether he will make a comeback to SuperSport United, where he is considered a legend, or if he will take on a new challenge elsewhere. Teams from both the Premier Division and Motsepe Foundation Championship have expressed interest in securing his services, highlighting his strong reputation within the South African football community.
