Seattle police have arrested a maniac for stabbing nine people in a series of random attacks that occurred over a period of two days in the city’s Chinatown-International District. The suspect, who remains unnamed, targeted victims within a four-block radius in a violent spree that left four individuals hospitalized at Harborview Medical Center.

According to reports, four of the victims were admitted to the hospital in critical condition, with two still in critical condition as of Friday night. One victim was upgraded to satisfactory condition, while another was listed in serious condition. Among the injured was a 53-year-old man who suffered a severe neck wound and required immediate medical attention.

Law enforcement officials were able to track down the suspect by following a trail of blood left by one of the victims. The assailant stabbed five people on Friday and is believed to be responsible for four additional stabbings that occurred in the same neighborhood on Thursday. Deputy Chief Eric Barden noted that the suspect’s description and the nature of the crimes linked the attacks on both days.

Witness descriptions and the discovery of a weapon near the suspect led to his apprehension by the Seattle Police Department. On Thursday, three individuals, including a 53-year-old woman, a 32-year-old man, and a 37-year-old man, were stabbed multiple times in the Chinatown area.

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell condemned the attacks as “horrific” and emphasized the importance of ensuring safety for all residents, workers, and visitors in the affected neighborhoods. He expressed a commitment to utilizing all available resources to enhance security in Little Saigon and the Chinatown-International District.

In a separate incident on Thursday night, a 60-year-old man narrowly escaped being stabbed when an assailant attempted to steal his phone. The victim managed to fend off the attacker’s knife with his hand, potentially preventing another stabbing in the assailant’s spree.

The violent attacks have shaken the community and prompted increased vigilance and security measures in the area to prevent further incidents of this nature. The swift action taken by law enforcement in apprehending the suspect has provided some relief to residents and visitors in the affected neighborhoods.
