Samsung has unveiled the latest addition to its mid-range Galaxy A-series lineup, the Galaxy A36, as a successor to the popular Galaxy A35 from last year. While both phones may share some similarities, there are significant differences that set them apart and may influence your decision on which one to choose.

One of the standout features of the Galaxy A36 is its improved charging speed. While both phones come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, the A36 stands out with its support for 45W super fast charging, compared to the 25W fast charging on the A35. This means that the A36 can reach two-thirds of its battery capacity in just 30 minutes, offering a significant convenience for users who need a quick top-up before heading out.

In terms of software enhancements, Samsung has integrated more AI features into the Galaxy A36 compared to the A35. The A36 includes Samsung’s new ‘Awesome Intelligence’ features such as AI Select, Object Eraser (Automatic Suggestion), Filters (Adjust film styles), and Read Aloud, providing users with a more intuitive and enhanced user experience. On the other hand, the A35 offers a more limited set of AI tools, making the A36 a better choice for those who enjoy AI-powered features in their daily phone usage.

The display on the Galaxy A36 has also seen significant improvements. It features a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a brightness of 1,200 nits, making it brighter and slightly larger than the 6.6-inch, 1,000-nit panel on the A35. This results in better visibility outdoors, improved HDR content viewing, and a more immersive viewing experience overall. Additionally, both displays support a 120Hz refresh rate, but the A36’s superior brightness makes it a better option for users who frequently use their phones in bright conditions or consume a lot of media.

Other minor upgrades on the Galaxy A36 include a thinner and lighter design, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip for improved power efficiency, a 12Mp front camera with Super HDR, and a redesigned rear camera setup. The Galaxy A36 is priced slightly higher than the A35, but the faster charging, enhanced AI features, brighter display, and improved storage capacity justify the price difference.

In conclusion, if you prioritize faster charging, advanced AI features, and a brighter display, the Galaxy A36 is the better choice. However, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly option with decent performance, the Galaxy A35 remains a solid choice. Ultimately, the Galaxy A36 offers better long-term usability and future-proof features, making it a worthwhile investment for those looking for a mid-range smartphone.
