We need to be able to identify threats before they are even launched, and AI is the tool that can help us do that,” he said during his keynote at RSAC 2025.

One of the key themes at the conference was the idea of “gen AI,” which is the next generation of AI designed to discover and neutralize nation-state tradecraft. This is the ultimate goal for cybersecurity professionals – to be able to not only detect and respond to threats but to proactively prevent them before they can do any damage.

Microsoft’s Vasu Jakkal outlined six critical pillars for securing agentic AI, emphasizing security “by design, default, and all around.” She stressed the importance of starting with security when implementing AI solutions and evolving security mechanisms as rapidly as AI evolves.

The live demos at RSAC showcased how agentic AI can pivot from detection to real-time action, quickly gaining insights into the tactics being used by threat actors and defining a containment strategy on the spot. CrowdStrike’s demonstration of a North Korean threat campaign highlighted the importance of human oversight in AI-powered security systems, as even the most advanced AI still needs human intervention to fine-tune models and spot adaptive threats.

The rise in efficacy numbers reported by Scale Venture Partners is a testament to the effectiveness of automation and AI in cybersecurity. By leveraging integrated AI-driven detection with automated containment, organizations are able to reduce dwell times and neutralize threats more effectively than ever before.

Overall, RSAC 2025 showcased the rapid evolution of agentic AI in cybersecurity and the critical role it plays in keeping organizations safe from advanced threats. As the industry continues to innovate and develop new technologies, the future of cybersecurity looks brighter than ever before. The landscape of cybersecurity is rapidly evolving, with machine-scale threats becoming the new norm. This shift was highlighted by Patel during his keynote address at a recent conference. He stressed that AI-driven models are not deterministic, posing unprecedented risks due to their inconsistent outputs.

The role of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) has also evolved significantly in response to these complex risks and threats. CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz emphasized the importance of CISOs securing a seat at the board table, highlighting the increasing demand for cybersecurity expertise among boards. Kurtz outlined a practical roadmap for CISOs to enhance their business fluency, speak the language of the board, and build their reputation outside the security bubble to secure a board seat.

Kurtz drew parallels between the transformation of CFOs following the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in 2002 and the potential impact of the SEC’s breach reporting mandate on CISOs today. He urged CISOs to leverage regulatory changes to drive their presence in the boardroom and emphasized the need for strategic networking and continuous learning to earn a board seat.

In another keynote address, Diana Kelley, CTO of Protect AI, debunked the myth of AI as magic and emphasized the importance of securing the AI lifecycle. She highlighted the risks associated with AI models, such as model poisoning and prompt injections, and called for a comprehensive approach to AI security. Kelley’s insights on securing AI from day zero and treating various components as privileged attack surfaces resonated with the audience.

The acquisition of Protect AI by Palo Alto Networks further underscored the importance of AI security in today’s cybersecurity landscape. The conference showcased the growing demand for agentic AI in security workflows, with a focus on demonstrating operational impact and tangible results. Platforms consolidating and automating alert triage were identified as key drivers of success, with a significant reduction in dwell time and improved phishing resilience being attributed to these technologies and techniques.

Overall, RSAC 2025 highlighted the critical role of AI in cybersecurity and the need for CISOs to adapt to evolving threats and risks. By leveraging regulatory changes, enhancing business acumen, and embracing AI security best practices, CISOs can ensure their organizations are well-equipped to navigate the complex cybersecurity landscape of the future. The world of technology is constantly evolving, with new advancements and innovations being made every day. From artificial intelligence to virtual reality, there is no shortage of exciting developments in the tech industry. One area that has seen significant growth in recent years is the field of biotechnology.

Biotechnology is the use of living organisms or biological systems to develop new products or processes. This can include anything from genetic engineering to pharmaceuticals to biofuels. The possibilities are endless, and the potential for biotechnology to improve our lives is vast.

One of the most exciting developments in biotechnology is the use of CRISPR technology. CRISPR is a revolutionary gene-editing tool that allows scientists to make precise changes to the DNA of living organisms. This technology has the potential to cure genetic diseases, create drought-resistant crops, and even genetically engineer new species.

Another area of biotechnology that is making waves is the field of personalized medicine. By analyzing an individual’s genetic makeup, doctors can tailor treatments to a patient’s specific needs, increasing the likelihood of successful outcomes and reducing the risk of side effects. This personalized approach to medicine has the potential to revolutionize healthcare and improve patient outcomes.

In addition to medical applications, biotechnology is also being used to develop sustainable solutions to environmental problems. From biofuels made from algae to biodegradable plastics, biotechnology is helping to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and create a more sustainable future.

Overall, the field of biotechnology is a rapidly growing and exciting area of technology that has the potential to revolutionize many aspects of our lives. From personalized medicine to sustainable energy solutions, the possibilities are endless. As researchers continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, we can expect to see even more exciting developments in the field of biotechnology in the years to come.
