RS Berkane Takes Commanding Lead in CAF Confederation Cup Final

RS Berkane have put one foot in the door of continental glory after a convincing 2-0 victory over Simba SC in the first leg of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup final. The Moroccan side delivered a masterclass in front of their home fans, setting the stage for a potential historic win.

From the opening whistle, Berkane asserted their dominance on the pitch, scoring an early goal in the 8th minute. Mamadou Camara showcased his composure and skill as he found the back of the net, thanks to a precise assist from El Moussaoui. This goal set the tone for an action-packed first half filled with intensity and excitement.

Not content with just one goal, Berkane continued their attacking prowess and doubled their lead in the 14th minute. Lamliou capitalized on a well-executed play to score the team’s second goal, with Rihai providing the crucial assist. The quick succession of goals left Simba SC reeling and struggling to find their footing for the remainder of the match.

Despite Simba’s best efforts to mount a comeback, RS Berkane’s solid defense and control in midfield thwarted any potential threats, maintaining their clean sheet and securing a vital two-goal advantage heading into the second leg.

As the action shifts to Tanzania for the return leg, Simba SC will be looking to overturn the deficit and stage a memorable comeback in front of their home supporters. However, RS Berkane’s dominant performance in the first leg puts them in a commanding position as they inch closer to clinching the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup title.
