South African singer-songwriter Rowlene has recently dropped her highly-anticipated EP, “Moments After,” which is now available on all major streaming platforms through ONErpm. This project serves as a triumphant return for the talented artist, blending raw emotion, introspective storytelling, and intricate sonic textures into a six-track journey of healing and reinvention.

Following the success of her singles “Breakaway” and “Don’t Give Up on Me,” both of which received significant airplay on radio stations nationwide, “Moments After” represents the complete narrative that Rowlene has been eager to share. It delves into the aftermath of heartbreak, personal growth, and the transformative decision to reclaim joy and peace.

In Rowlene’s own words, the EP captures the essence of what happens after a storm. It’s about rediscovering oneself—finding joy, peace, and freedom after experiencing heartbreak or emotional turmoil. Each track on the EP represents a different stage of the healing process, from reflection to release.

“Moments After” showcases a more grounded and evolved version of Rowlene, both musically and personally. The record seamlessly combines live instrumentation with soulful tones, alt-R&B elements, warm harmonies, and a newfound vulnerability that mirrors her emotional evolution.

According to Rowlene, this EP is the truest representation of herself that she has ever put out into the world. She no longer feels the need to conform to expectations and is more intentional and self-aware as both an artist and a woman.

The lyrics on the EP are deeply rooted in real-life experiences—raw conversations, unexpected confrontations, and personal revelations that come with choosing oneself. One pivotal moment for Rowlene was realizing how much of herself she had sacrificed in order to maintain peace. This realization became the emotional core of the EP.

Rowlene hopes that “Moments After” serves as a safe space for listeners who are going through similar experiences. Whether someone is in the midst of a challenging situation or emerging from it, she wants the project to remind them that healing is a messy yet beautiful journey—and it’s perfectly okay to outgrow things that no longer serve a purpose.

Fans in Cape Town will have the opportunity to experience the EP live at Rowlene’s upcoming release party on June 12 at North North Social Club. Tickets can be purchased through the event link.

With “Moments After,” Rowlene has not only delivered a captivating sonic experience but also a profoundly personal offering that showcases her growth as an artist and an individual. The EP invites fans to join her on this journey of self-discovery and embracing what the future holds.
