Roborock

At CES 2025, Roborock is set to introduce the Saros Z70, a revolutionary robot vacuum cleaner equipped with a robotic arm capable of picking up items from the floor. While robotic arms have been featured on robot vacuums before, the Saros Z70 is the first model to include a robotic arm with a gripper, known as the OmniGrip 1.0, that can handle small objects weighing up to 300g.

The Saros Z70’s robotic arm extends from the top of the unit and boasts “five-axis” movement, allowing it to extend and move in five different directions from a rotating base. When not in use, the arm can fold into a compartment, maintaining the vacuum’s slim and low profile of 7.98cm for efficient cleaning under furniture.

How does the Saros Z70 pick things up?

During the initial cleaning and mapping session, the Saros Z70 identifies and records the position of objects it can pick up, then revisits them in subsequent cleaning sessions. Users have the flexibility to customize settings for object pick-up through the app, specifying which objects the OmniGrip interacts with and their designated placement. Roborock plans to offer accessories for the Saros Z70, including a bin for waste disposal and a cat toy for pet interaction.

In a live demonstration of a previous Saros Z70 model, the robot displayed occasional hesitancy but showcased impressive functionality when successful. Further testing will provide more comprehensive feedback on its performance.

– Machine learning for object recognition and identification
– Powerful 22,000 Pa suction capability
– Anti-tangle system to prevent hair entanglement
– Dual-spinning mops with adjustable height
– Voice control compatibility with various platforms
– VertiBeam Lateral Obstacle Avoidance technology
– Pet-friendly design for a stress-free cleaning experience

The Saros Z70 is available with a standard charging base or the Multifunctional Dock 4.0, offering fast charging, hot water mop washing, and automatic mop removal.

When will the Saros Z70 be available to buy?

The Saros Z70 is scheduled for release in the first half of 2025. Pricing details for the UK and US markets are yet to be announced. Stay tuned for updates on the availability of this innovative robot vacuum. In the meantime, explore our selection of the best robot vacuums currently on the market.
