Recipe of the day: Sheet pan pizza

Craving a delicious homemade pizza but don’t want to put in too much effort? Look no further than this sheet pan pizza recipe. With a crispy crust, gooey melted cheese, and fragrant basil, this pizza is a breeze to make and will satisfy your pizza cravings in no time. Whether you’re looking for a quick dinner on a busy weeknight or a fun meal for the weekend, this sheet pan pizza is the perfect choice.

To get started, you’ll need just a few simple ingredients:
– 227 grams of pizza dough
– 3 tablespoons of olive oil (divided)
– ½ cup of pizza sauce
– 1 cup of mozzarella cheese
– 4-5 cherry tomatoes, sliced
– ½ cup of fresh basil, chopped (plus more for serving)

Here’s how to make this mouthwatering sheet pan pizza:
1. Allow the pizza dough to sit at room temperature for 20 minutes, then roll it out to approximately 9 x 13 inches to fit a quarter sheet pan.
2. Preheat your oven to 500°F and position the rack in the upper ⅓ position.
3. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil onto the sheet pan and gently press the dough into the oiled pan.
4. Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the dough, then spread the pizza sauce on top.
5. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese, sliced cherry tomatoes, and chopped basil over the sauce.
6. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
7. Finish off the pizza with some fresh basil and crushed red pepper flakes, if desired.
