Real Madrid CF has made a groundbreaking announcement that Xabi Alonso will take on the role of Real Madrid’s manager for the upcoming three seasons, starting from June 1, 2025, until June 30, 2028.

Xabi Alonso holds a distinguished status as one of the greatest legends not only of Real Madrid but also in the realm of world football. He graced the Real Madrid jersey in 236 official matches from 2009 to 2014, securing an impressive six titles during his tenure. Among his accolades are the prestigious tenth European Cup in Lisbon, a European Super Cup, a La Liga title, two Copa del Rey titles, and a Spanish Super Cup.

Beyond his contributions to Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso is revered as a legend of the Spanish national team. His remarkable performances led Spain to victory in the 2010 World Cup and the 2008 and 2012 European Championships, amassing 113 international appearances.

Embarking on his coaching journey, Xabi Alonso initiated his career at Real Madrid’s youth academy, where he led the U14 A team to triumph in both the League and the Champions Tournament during the 2018-2019 season. His coaching prowess further flourished at Bayer Leverkusen, where he clinched the League, Cup, and German Super Cup in a remarkable three-season stint.

The grand unveiling of Xabi Alonso as the new Real Madrid coach is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, May 26, at 12:30 p.m. The event will take place at Real Madrid City, where the esteemed Real Madrid president, Florentino Pérez, will officially welcome Xabi Alonso during the formal signing ceremony that solidifies his association with the club for the forthcoming three seasons.
