Manchester City Closing in on Signing Olympique Lyonnais Star Rayan Cherki

Manchester City is on the verge of securing a major transfer coup by signing highly-rated Olympique Lyonnais star, Rayan Cherki. The talented French international has reportedly given his approval to join the reigning Premier League champions and is eager to showcase his skills under the guidance of Pep Guardiola.

Cherki has been in scintillating form for Lyon this season, notching up an impressive tally of 12 goals and 20 assists across all competitions. His standout performances have garnered widespread attention, not only for his on-field exploits but also for his resilience in overcoming personal challenges throughout the year.

Despite facing internal discord and starting the season on the fringes, the 21-year-old has emerged as one of the brightest prospects in Ligue 1, earning accolades such as a place in the league’s Team of the Season and recognition as the top assist provider. Amidst interest from clubs like Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester City has emerged as the frontrunner in the race to secure Cherki’s services.

Sources close to the player have revealed that Cherki has had direct discussions with Guardiola and is thrilled at the prospect of slotting into the role of a number 10 in City’s tactical setup. Negotiations between the player’s representatives and the Cityzens are said to be progressing positively, with personal terms being ironed out. Lyon is poised to receive a fee in the region of €40 million for their prized academy graduate, marking a significant milestone for all parties involved in the potential transfer.
