Kaizer Chiefs fought hard to secure a 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy in a thrilling Betway Premiership clash at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit. Ranga Chivaviro proved to be the hero for Amakhosi, coming off the bench to score a crucial last-minute equalizer.

The game started off with TS Galaxy taking the lead in the first half, with Samukele Kabini heading home in the 35th minute. Despite the early setback, Kaizer Chiefs showed determination and resilience, pushing forward in search of an equalizer.

Ashley Du Preez had a great opportunity to level the scores early on, but his shot narrowly missed the target. Rushwin Dortley also impressed with a vital tackle to deny Victor Letsoalo a clear chance on goal. Inacio Miguel came close to scoring with a header, but the ball sailed over the bar.

TS Galaxy’s goal came against the run of play, as Chiefs struggled to clear a corner which led to Kabini finding the back of the net. The hosts went into halftime with a one-goal advantage, but Kaizer Chiefs were not ready to give up.

Coach Nabi made a triple substitution at halftime, bringing on Chivaviro, Tebogo Potsane, and Mfundo Vilakazi. The changes injected new energy into the team, with Shabalala hitting the crossbar early in the second half.

Potsane looked dangerous down the left flank, creating chances for Chivaviro to level the scores. Despite a strong claim for a penalty after goalkeeper Ira Tape’s challenge on Reeve Frosler, the referee waved away Chiefs’ appeals.

In the dying minutes of the game, Chivaviro finally found the breakthrough, scoring in the sixth minute of added time to salvage a valuable point for Kaizer Chiefs. The team’s perseverance and never-say-die attitude paid off, as they fought till the last minute to secure a hard-earned draw.
