During a recent visit to the contested Kursk region, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s helicopter came under fire from Ukrainian drones, according to the Kremlin.
Yury Dashkin, commander of an air defense division, disclosed that while Putin was conducting his victory rounds in the reconquered Russian territory on May 20, his helicopter was targeted in an aerial attack by Kyiv, as reported by state news agency TASS.
The helicopter found itself in the midst of a large-scale drone attack by the enemy, Dashkin revealed. Despite the intense situation, the air defense division managed to engage in a battle to repel the attack and ensure the safety of the presidential helicopter’s flight.
Shortly after this incident, Russia initiated its most significant drone and missile strike on Ukraine, eliciting criticism from President Trump.
