Proteas invite fans to join in Test final victory celebrations: All the details

The Proteas are set to host a special meet and greet event with their fans in Sandton on Thursday, as they bask in the glory of their recent World Test Championship final victory. Proteas coach Shukri Conrad and Test captain Temba Bavuma have extended an invitation to sports enthusiasts to come together and celebrate the team’s historic win at Lord’s last week, where they emerged victorious over Australia by five wickets.

This remarkable triumph marks the South African cricket team’s first major international title since their Champions Trophy win in 1998, a momentous occasion that has reignited the nation’s passion for the sport. As the Proteas prepare to return home from the UK on Wednesday, they are eager to express their gratitude to their loyal supporters by hosting a special event on Thursday.

Cricket South Africa has expressed their appreciation for the unwavering support of fans and former players, emphasizing that this victory is a testament to the enduring spirit of South African cricket. The meet and greet event will take place at Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton from 1pm to 3pm, offering fans the opportunity to meet their favorite Proteas players and catch a glimpse of the prestigious WTC mace.

In addition to the chance to interact with the players, the first 100 fans to arrive will receive an exclusive WTC Champions shirt, adding to the excitement of the celebration. Attendees can look forward to giveaways and a special opportunity for one lucky fan to join the Proteas on stage for a champion’s photo opportunity, capturing the essence of this historic moment.
