The Upper East Region of Ghana is currently in shock and mourning following the tragic incident that took place in the community of Poyamirea. Two police officers were brutally shot and killed by a group of armed robbers in a brazen attack that has left the entire nation reeling.

The officers, who were on their way from Bongo to Binduri on a private motorbike, were ambushed by the robbers in a cowardly act of violence. The attackers not only took the lives of these brave officers but also callously stole their motorbike before fleeing the scene.

The identities of the fallen officers have not been revealed as authorities are working diligently to inform their families and follow traditional protocols. The Director of Public Affairs, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, expressed the deepest condolences of the Police Administration to the bereaved families, the Regional Commander, and all the officers and men in the region. The entire community is in mourning, and our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this senseless act of violence.

The Ghana Police Service has launched a massive manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this heinous crime. ACP Ansah-Akrofi reassured the public that every effort is being made to bring the culprits to justice. The police are determined to ensure that those behind this attack face the full force of the law and are held accountable for their actions.

As investigations into this tragic incident continue, the police are urging the public to come forward with any information that may help in apprehending the suspects. The safety and security of all citizens are of utmost importance, and the police are committed to ensuring that justice is served.
