Real Estate Magnate Jude Ezenwafor Emerges as PDP Candidate for Anambra State Governorship Election

In a significant development, Chief Jude Ezenwafor, a prominent real estate magnate, has been chosen as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the upcoming Anambra State governorship election, slated for November 8, 2025.

The announcement of Ezenwafor’s victory was made by Col. Chijioke Onwubuya (rtd), the chairperson of the PDP national committee responsible for overseeing the party’s primary election in the State. The primary election took place at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka.

Ezenwafor emerged as the only candidate in the PDP governorship nomination, as he was the sole aspirant who obtained the party’s nomination forms.

A total of 853 delegates, including 839 elected representatives from the 21 local government areas of the State and 14 national delegates, were accredited to participate in the primary election.

Despite being the sole candidate, each delegate was provided with a ballot paper to indicate their preferred choice. The voting process was conducted across the local government areas, with national delegates casting their votes first.

Now officially declared as the PDP flag-bearer, Ezenwafor will face off against candidates from four other political parties in the upcoming Anambra State gubernatorial election.

The ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has endorsed the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, as its candidate for the election. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has selected Prince Nicolas Ukachukwu, while the Labour Party (LP) has put forward Chief George Muoghalu, former managing director of the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA). Additionally, the African Action Congress (AAC) features Miss Chioma Ifemuludike as its candidate in the race.
