The Oura Ring 4 is a top-notch smart ring that offers a perfect balance of design, tracking capabilities, battery life, and insightful data. As one of the leading smart rings on the market, the Oura Ring 4 sets itself apart from the competition with its sleek design and array of features.

Design & Build

The Oura Ring 4 is available in six different color finishes, including silver, black, brushed silver, stealth, gold, and rose gold. The ring now includes more titanium in its design, with the sensor platform sitting more discreetly on the underside. The etching on the outside of the ring serves as a visual reminder to wear the ring with the sensors against the inside of your finger. The sensors now sit more flush with the interior fully encased in titanium, making it more comfortable to wear. The fully circular design gives it a modern look, and the wider range of sizes ensures a better fit for more users.

Fitness & Tracking

The Oura Ring 4 tracks a variety of metrics, including sleep, steps, stress, and heart health. To access all the insights, users will need to subscribe to a monthly or annual plan. The new optical sensor platform improves tracking accuracy and offers more signal pathways. The ring monitors steps, sleep, stress, temperature, daily heart rate, and provides a Readiness metric to help users gauge their physical state. The ring now better tracks heart rate during exercise and offers more reliable sleep tracking compared to other smart rings.

Battery Life & Charging

The Oura Ring 4 boasts up to 8 days of battery life, depending on usage and ring size. Charging is done with a charging cradle and takes around 90 minutes to fully charge. While not the leader in battery performance among smart rings, the Ring 4 shows improvement over its predecessor, the Ring Gen 3. The charging cradle has a more high-grade look, but other smart rings offer more portable charging options.

A monthly or annual subscription is required for full access to all features. Comparatively, the Samsung Galaxy Ring is available for a one-time price of $399.99 without a subscription. The Oura Ring Gen 3 is still available for £249/$249 without a subscription.

Should you buy the Oura Ring 4?

The Oura Ring 4 is a standout smart ring that excels in design, comfort, and data presentation. With improved battery life, enhanced heart rate tracking, and a more comfortable fit, the Ring 4 is a solid upgrade from the Ring Gen 3.
