Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Arunma Oteh Honored at 2025 Forbes Woman Africa Awards

At the prestigious 2025 Forbes Woman Africa Awards in Pretoria, two remarkable women were recognized for their outstanding contributions to global leadership and financial reforms. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award in acknowledgement of her transformative role in shaping international trade. Arunma Oteh, a former Treasurer at the World Bank, was honored with the Change Maker of the Decade Award for her impactful financial reforms that have made a significant difference.

The awards ceremony took place during the 10th Forbes Woman Africa Leading Women Summit, which was themed “To The Power of 10: The Rule-Breakers In Africa’s Next Chapter.” The event brought together a host of inspiring and influential women who are making a difference in their respective fields. Among the other notable winners were Tiwa Savage, who received the Media Icon award, and Nissi Ogulu, who was recognized as the Youth Icon. These awards celebrate the achievements of African women who are shaping history and breaking barriers.

This year’s Forbes Woman Africa Awards highlighted the incredible accomplishments of women who are leading the way in various industries and sectors. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Arunma Oteh’s recognition is a testament to their dedication, leadership, and vision in driving positive change on a global scale.
