The OIC Commends President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s Support for the Palestinian Cause
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in an extraordinary session held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has applauded the efforts of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria in backing the Palestinian cause.
Significant Support for Palestine
The resolution passed during the emergency meeting focused on Palestinian developments and lauded Algeria’s significant and valued efforts under President Tebboune’s leadership. The OIC recognized Algeria’s role, particularly as a non-permanent member and president of the UN Security Council, in advancing Islamic causes and advocating for the Palestinian people.
Call for Action
The resolution also called for support for Algeria’s endeavors, in conjunction with other Islamic nations serving as non-permanent Security Council members, to rally the Council into action. The urgent need to address Gaza’s re-occupation plan, halt the genocidal war against Palestinians, and ensure immediate humanitarian aid access across the region, especially after the UN’s declaration of an official famine, was emphasized.
