Residents of a North Side neighborhood have been dealing with a persistent prowler who has been breaking into garages and trespassing in yards over the past few weeks.

One resident who shared video footage of the thief on the Ring network noted that he has become a familiar face in the neighborhood, with numerous surveillance clips capturing his activities, earning him the title of a “TV star” among residents.

The burglar’s notoriety reached new heights when Chicago police detectives released surveillance images of him and sought public assistance in identifying the suspect.

The photos unveiled by CPD depict the man burglarizing a garage in the 1800 block of West Balmoral around 2:30 a.m. on November 29. The stolen items included two bikes, an electric cargo bike, and DeWalt tools and chargers.
