The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, officially began his term in office on the 11th of February, urging all staff and heads of ministries, departments, and agencies working with the Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC) to prioritize the nation’s interests in their duties.

Nelson emphasized the importance of having Ghana’s interests at heart while serving the nation with dedication and enthusiasm. He highlighted that service to the nation is the fundamental principle that unites all public servants, and the commitment to providing the best service must be upheld at all times.

“It is crucial to remember that our ultimate goal is to serve our beloved nation,” he remarked. Regardless of their roles and functions, Nelson stressed the significance of shouldering responsibilities with the necessary commitment to deliver results that benefit Ghana and its citizens.

During his address, Nelson reiterated his commitment to focusing on the welfare of the people of the Western Region. He expressed his determination to work collaboratively with the staff to enhance the region’s image and uplift the lives of its residents.

In his inaugural meeting with the staff and department heads at the WRCC, Nelson assured the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) of his readiness to lead as Chairman. He also took the time to interact with the officials to understand the challenges they face in their daily operations.

Additionally, Nelson engaged with the media in the region, emphasizing the importance of a positive working relationship to address the area’s challenges collectively. He highlighted President John Dramani Mahama’s administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of Ghanaian citizens and pledged to represent the President fully in championing the development objectives of the Western Region.
