The launch of the “Future of Africa” podcast series has been announced by the United Nations Foundation in collaboration with the African Union Youth Envoy, The Elders, and The Global Dispatches Podcast. This new podcast aims to amplify the voices of young African changemakers in global policy conversations.
Presented by Kenyan media personality Adelle Onyango and Mark Leon Goldberg, the podcast will delve into a range of global challenges and opportunities that are shaping the world today and Africa’s future. Through a combination of personal storytelling and policy dialogue, the series will tackle issues such as climate justice, financing for development, trust in democratic institutions, and the future of education.
The podcast is a signature output of the Panel of the Future, an initiative of the African Union Youth Envoy that brings together young leaders advocating for inclusive, youth-centered policymaking. Each episode will feature young African voices in conversation with statespeople and global policy experts, sharing innovative ideas and practical solutions with listeners.
Guests on the podcast will include former President of Colombia and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Juan Manuel Santos, Chido Mpemba, Minister Serigne Mbaye Thiam, Ms. Tina Muparadzi, and Ms. Graça Machel. The series will cover topics ranging from Africa’s role on the global stage to climate, peace, and security nexus, global partnerships, trust deficit, education, women empowerment, and vaccines.
The “Future of Africa” podcast will be available on major streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts. This collaboration between the African Union Youth Envoy, United Nations Foundation, The Elders, and Global Dispatches aims to create a new model for intergenerational dialogue on complex policy issues, making them accessible to youth audiences while informing global decision-makers.
