File photo of a worried man
Dear GhanaWeb,
A recent revelation has left me in a state of shock and disbelief. My wife confessed to me that she had loaned GH¢40,000 to her ex-lover without my knowledge. This information came to light only three days ago, and I am struggling to come to terms with it.
According to my wife, she believed that her ex-lover would repay the loan as promised. However, six months have passed, and he has not made any effort to return the money. This has put a significant strain on our finances as we were planning to use that sum to purchase a piece of land this year.
When the time came to make the land purchase, my wife remained silent about the missing money, leaving me to believe that everything was in order. It was only when I attempted to make the payment that she tearfully confessed to lending the money to her ex-boyfriend. The same ex-boyfriend whom she had assured me she had cut all ties with.
The realization that she had been in contact with her ex behind my back, and had kept such a significant financial decision from me, has shattered my trust in her. I feel betrayed and deeply hurt by her actions.
Despite her assurances that her ex-lover is out of town and she needs more time to contact him for repayment, I find it difficult to believe that he will honor his debt. This situation has left me emotionally and financially drained.
As I contemplate the next steps to take, including the possibility of divorce, I am faced with a dilemma. While I am hurt by my wife’s actions and lack of transparency, I am also mindful of the fact that she is pregnant. This complicates matters further and adds to my emotional turmoil.
At this juncture, I am seeking advice on how to navigate this challenging situation. I feel lost and unsure about what to do next. Any guidance or insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support,
FG/MA
