File photo of a worried woman
Dear GhanaWeb,
My husband is currently very ill. He is on admission at the hospital; he has been there for about three weeks now.
I don’t see him recovering; I strongly feel that I will lose him. I have even had dreams where he was ‘walking out of our lives’. He has been sick for about 11 months now.
Sadly, the doctors haven’t been able to detect the cause of his illness; they are just managing his situation.
We have been to several places seeking help but to no avail. We have roamed the entire Ghana seeking solutions but have found none.
We have even gone to places to seek spiritual help but we are told my husband’s spirit has been handed to a strong deity. We haven’t told him though but this information is very disturbing to me.
We have been advised that his life can be saved only when we exchange someone’s from his family. My husband is 51 years old and his illness started after he supported someone to stand for MP in our constituency.
He was secretly sponsoring the candidate but they had a misunderstanding. The candidate started misbehaving after he became very known to the constituents. So, my husband decided to withdraw his support and focus on his candidate’s opponent.
He fell sick three days later and it’s been hell for him and I till date. He keeps losing weight, vomiting blood and struggles a lot to catch a breath.
He also doesn’t eat anything. The only thing that he manages to take into his stomach is water and once a while, porridge.
Someone recommended we take him to India. We traveled and spent three weeks and returned last 2 months. The doctors in India could not help him.
One of them said my husband has no life, therefore can’t be saved. I have really been struggling to save my husband.
All he wanted to do was help someone and reap his benefits. The person has even lost the election.
I went to the candidate and begged him to forgive and free my husband but he denied knowing or being behind my husband’s predicament. We have done our best but I feel death hovering around him, I’m losing faith in his recovery.
I am so scared to lose my husband but I have run out of options. Please, what do I do at this point?
