Since its inception in 2013, the Mozambique Gas & Energy Summit & Exhibition has become the premier platform for the gas, LNG, and energy industry in Mozambique. The event has showcased the country’s energy megaprojects and fostered collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive innovation, create jobs, build technical capacity, and support socioeconomic growth.
Themed “Powering Positive Progress,” the tenth edition of the Summit will celebrate a decade of energy industry advancements and highlight future opportunities in Mozambique’s energy sector.
Notable milestones to be showcased at the Summit include the launch of Mozambique’s Gas Masterplan in 2013 and the signing of a significant long-term LNG offtake contract between bp and Mozambique Rovuma Venture S.p.A. in 2016.
Key energy opportunities on the horizon for Mozambique include over 100tcf of proven natural gas reserves, an estimated 12,500mw of hydropower potential, and 2.7gw of solar energy resources.
To kick off the landmark Summit, a press conference was held on 26th February 2025 in Maputo, hosted by dmg events and ENH, where new initiatives and partnerships were announced to enhance the event’s impact across the energy industry value chain.
One of the highlights of the press conference was the unveiling of a partnership between dmg events and Field Ready, a platform focused on youth employability through STEM education and training programs. This partnership aims to integrate the Generation Ready meeting into the Summit, empowering Mozambican youth and fostering collaboration between government and industry.
Phil Andrews, Founder of Field Ready, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the importance of empowering the next generation in Mozambique’s energy sector. Damian Howard, Senior Vice President of dmg events, highlighted the significance of Africa’s youthful population in driving future demand and the role of Generation Ready in empowering the youth.
