Morocco and Liberia Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation
On Friday in Laayoune, Morocco and Liberia reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening their bilateral cooperation and making the Morocco-Liberia partnership an exceptional model of inter-African collaboration. The joint statement issued following the bilateral meeting between Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and Liberian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, highlighted the strong ties of brotherhood and solidarity between the two countries.
The ministers praised the progress achieved in various fields of cooperation and expressed their determination to explore new avenues of collaboration in priority sectors such as investment, industry, trade, fisheries, renewable energy, health, water, education, infrastructure, women’s rights, and mining.
Both parties recognized the economic potential of their countries and agreed to intensify efforts to develop and diversify trade exchanges, establish a mutually beneficial economic partnership, and increase bilateral trade. Business communities in Morocco and Liberia were encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities available in both countries.
Morocco expressed readiness to support Liberia in implementing its National Development Plan, focusing on providing basic social services and promoting social and economic development.
As part of the Joint Cooperation Commission, several legal instruments were signed in various sectors including industry, trade cooperation, mining exploration, justice, water resource management, social development, crafts, tourism, healthcare, education, vocational training, and scholarship programs.
