MOONGA K. is back with a bang, releasing his latest single, “hold on!” This track is just a taste of what’s to come from his upcoming EP, OUTLAW. Known for his genre-defying sound and fearless storytelling, MOONGA K. is set to take listeners on a wild ride with this new project.

The single “hold on!” is a fusion of funk, soul, and Americana-infused country, creating a choir-driven anthem of resilience. It’s a powerful showcase of MOONGA K.’s dedication to pushing musical boundaries. The teaser for the single was shot at a horse ranch, setting the stage for a project that promises to redefine the cowboy aesthetic through a queer African lens.

“hold on!” sets the tone for OUTLAW, a narrative that follows MOONGA K. as a lone cowboy on a journey through vast landscapes, small-town bars, and uncharted territories. The music video, filmed in South Africa and Lesotho, will capture the raw beauty of MOONGA’s artistic evolution as an outlaw.

OUTLAW is described by MOONGA K. as a bold reclamation of country music, paying homage to the often overlooked history of Black cowboys in the 19th century. Through this project, MOONGA K. aims to uplift underrepresented voices and explore themes of courage, identity, and self-determination.

The release of “hold on!” kicks off a dynamic visual campaign that will lead up to the full release of OUTLAW on June 27, 2025. The EP promises to introduce fans to a multi-dimensional sonic and visual world that MOONGA K. has meticulously crafted.

Following “hold on!”, fans can look forward to the release of the second single, “stole my heart”, on May 16. This track will delve into a queer cowboy love story, expanding the OUTLAW universe even further.

His fearless storytelling and boundary-pushing music have garnered him critical acclaim and nominations for prestigious awards. With OUTLAW, MOONGA K. is set to redefine the modern cowboy archetype – bold, unapologetic, and limitless.

Stay tuned for more new music, visuals, and live performances from MOONGA K. as he continues to captivate audiences with his electrifying sound and fearless storytelling. Don’t miss out on the journey of a lifetime with OUTLAW.
