Mohammed Salisu’s future at AS Monaco seems uncertain as reports suggest he might be making a move to Saudi Arabia this summer. The Ghanaian defender, who had a challenging season with Monaco, is reportedly seeking a fresh start after struggling to find his form in Ligue 1.

Salisu, 26, joined Monaco from Southampton in the summer of 2023 with high hopes of making an impact in French football. However, his first season at the club was marred by injuries, which hampered his playing time and performance on the field. Despite starting the season well and featuring regularly in the early games, Salisu’s form deteriorated as the season progressed.

The center-back managed just 15 league appearances throughout the season, with his last start dating back to February 1st. His lack of playing time and the arrival of new defensive signings, including Eric Dier from Bayern Munich, have cast doubts on Salisu’s future at Monaco.

Reports suggest that Salisu has attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia as well as across Europe. A move to Saudi Arabia could provide him with the opportunity to regain regular playing time and rediscover his form after a disappointing spell at Monaco.

With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, a potential move for Salisu could be crucial in securing his place in the Ghanaian national team. The summer transfer window presents a chance for the talented defender to kickstart his career and showcase his abilities on a new stage.

As Salisu looks to embark on a new chapter in his career, fans will be eagerly awaiting updates on his potential move to Saudi Arabia and how it could impact his future in professional football. Stay tuned for more developments on this evolving transfer saga.
